Research: Partnerships for the Young

Growing up in a city can be great! Exciting. So many opportunities. And also challenges. Cities offer a richness of contacts and encounters. On the other hand, spaces to play and learn are running short. Some areas are safer than others. How do you cope? How can adults help you best?

Understanding what happens on the streets of the city helps young urban citizens to develop and grow .
Examples of urban education, or city pedagogy, are:
-the children’s space in the Atomium in Brussels (Belgium)
-early childhood education in Reggio Emilia (Italy)
-the time bureau in Rennes and Poitiers (France)
-urban citizenship in Rotterdam (Netherlands).

If you are young, and interested, tell us about the supports you get…the troubles you face…teach adults to do better…find out how you can help. Help with our research.
